The Last Stand

Today we embark on the adventure of the Florida Primary. In just a few short weeks, we will begin our adventure across 20 states for Super Tuesday. My prediction is that Rudy will most likely drop out if he is unable to perform well in Florida. If he were able to, a different story may be written. At the end of Super Tuesday all the remaining candidates will have to begin looking at their campaigns and seeing what they can possibly change about it, if anything. For some, it will be the end of the road. And yet for others, and possibly just one, it is the beginning of yet another long campaign.

Although I was not a fan of Fred Thompson, soley because of his moderately social stances, as well as his inability to have an effective campaign. Thompson did make a good point in the South Carolina Debate. Thompson understood that this nomination process for the Republican Party is not about Leadership, it's not about Security and it isn't about Foreign Policy. This nomination is about the heart and soul of the Republican Party. It is about the direction our nominee will take us in. Which Direction do you choose?

On one side you have the Giuliani campaign. Rudy is still living in 9/11. Rightly so, that's what made him famous. Rudy has some good characteristics about him though. His ability to fight crime and unite both parties is what makes a good leader. But Rudy has more cons about him then pros. Rudy is for abortion. Rudy sued dozens of Gun Manufactures while Mayor. Rudy marched in Gay Pride Parades. And Rudy's Immigration Stance is one of the worst. Is this the man we want to see become the head and director of our Party and its values?

We then have Ron Paul. An isolationist who believes everything we have done is wrong. Ok, let's understand something. Yes, American is too involved with world affairs. We need to do more at the home front. But isolating us from the rest of the world will cause us more problems. It may not have if we started out that way. But we didn't, so to take that path now is too dangerous for our soldiers, and too dangerous for us at home. You then have Ron's stance on Taxes, he is one of very few who have always voted to lower taxes and never raise them. But then Ron goes on to want to demolish the FBI, CIA, NSA....I mean, what the heck is this guy thinking?? Does he honestly believe that getting rid of such departments, despite corruption will help our country's needs? Simple, No. Then you have the supporters of Ron Paul. If you don't like the guy, they don't like you. They will fight and fight and fight until they have won you over and if they do not. They will set out to criticize everything you do, regardless of what it is. This is the biggest reason, Ron Paul will not win the nomination. Because his supporters cannot divide loyalty and radically.

Mitt Romney, good ole' Mitt Romney. Looks Presidential, Sounds Presidential but isn't Presidential. It's like one of the TV adds that will "change your life forever," then when you get it, it does what it says, but not the way you thought it would. Turns out to be a waste of money. I am one of the few who believe that Mitt was always Pro-Life, I believe he was Pro-Gay Marriage Ban, and I believe he supports the Second Amendment. But I believe Mitt can also sacrifice his beliefs to get something accomplished. For instance, he was willing to be against the Conservative Values of our Party in order to be elected Senator and then Governor. Now, Mitt was an ok Governor. When it came to Immigration, he wasn't that great. But the social issues was one of the greatest. But my argument with Mitt is how will he opperate when Democrats or "republicans" come into his Oval Office to present him with ideas and agendas that will cause him to have to sacrifice Conservatism. Will he do it? His history says he will. If it sounds good and convincing he'll change positions. And this can be dangerous. Do we need Presidents who are open to all ideas? Yes. But to be open to ideas that sacrifices the morals of an individual is never a good outcome. This alone is what turns me away from Mitt Romney.

Now for John McCain. McCain deserves credit for his service. That's about it. When a Republican chooses to socialize with a Democrat in Washington, two things will happened. #1: They will become Democrat or #2: They will get screwed. When you choose to socialize with Power Hungry Democrats, while at the same time hold on to your conservative values and morals. You will not last. It is a proven fact. Moderate Republicans cause more damage the Conservative and Christian GOPers. McCain's change of heart on Immigration shows him to be a weak coward towards the hispanic community. Illegal Votes anyone? McCain's Independent voters support is the only reason he is doing well. Once the race narrows down even more, McCain will have to do more to step up. But with funds low this will be hard. Even harder since his McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform Act.

Finally we have Mike Huckabee. Christian, Family Values, the most conservative. Understands we cannot leave Iraq, but that there needs to be some kind of performance from the Iraqi Military. Understands that we need to help resolve problems at home, such as poverty, disease, low-income families etc. Before trying to do that elsewhere around the world. Mike Huckabee has been hammered for his tax issues. Even though the voters of Arkansas voted for them. He cut spending so much, that he was forced to raise taxes. Now for those who are anti-tax such as myself. This is a hard concept to swallow. But understand that he came into office with a screwed up system, he tried fixing it with conservative values. It worked, but not all he wanted to do was able to pass through the screwed up Legislatures. This is the fight conservatives have. Democrats won't work to keep taxes low, so they'll wait til you raise them to make their case. The tax issue has been debunked. Move on! Now his Immigration. Well, my friends. Unless, he has taken the more compassionate role on this issue. I am so tired of these radical "Conservatives" who fight him on this issue. The entire Hispanic Community is Democratic, no doubt. It's obvious Huckabee is not trying to win them over, he realizes that you cannot. Huckabee did something different, he said we should not punish the children for their parents mistakes or law-breaking acts. And he's right. Now, with that said, does that mean they should get more pleasures and aid then those who are here legally? Absolutely NOT. And if in fact that is how Mike Huckabee operated then he is wrong. But, we aren't going to actually no unless we were in Arkansas. So we are going to have to understand the hindsight of it. Then of course he was hammered with his faith. If a Republican confesses Christ as Lord and Savior, the media and Democratic Party is so riled up against them screaming "Separation of Church & State." Yet Clinton and Obama can go to all these churches across the country, stand on the pulpit and preach about Christ and talk about the "state of the nation" and everyone applause. See anything wrong with this picture? Finally, Huckabee was hammered for the Rape Convict he set free. I will not even honor this issue with a response.

There is no perfect candidate, Conservatism is falling. But it has not failed. We must choose one who will fight for us, and who will send the direction of the Republican Party the right way. Obviously I feel it is Mike Huckabee. Ask yourself the question I had to ask me. Who do you want not only leading and protecting our country. But directing our Party's direction either closer or further from our Values and Morals we have for so long held.

You Don't Have To Say It

This Article Was Written in December, But still something we should remember.

As we approach the Christmas Holiday, there seems to be some controversy concerning what we can say while wishing people a Merry Christmas. Some options have been considered; we could say Happy Holidays, or Merry X-Mas. There have been other new century slang's to celebrate Christmas, but those are the most popular. So, I'd like to address this crazy issue. I don't care if you want to say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or whatever your religion may call this wonderful season, it doesn't matter. What does matter, is when you try to make me say your religion quote, and yet I'm forbidden not to. I, for one like to say Merry Christmas. You may want to say Happy Holidays. You can look at me weird, that's ok, because I guarantee I will look at you very, very weird. When we draw near to this great season, and begin celebrating it. We must remember what is important, and that is our Freedom. It does not make sense how certain groups can give us the freedom to whom we marry, the freedom to express ourselves by protesting in the nude, the freedom to hate on Christians, the freedom to abort our children but when it comes to the Christmas Holiday, the same groups find it offensive, and puts restrictions on what we can and can not say. Listen, if you don't want to say Merry Christmas, you don't have to. But don't put limits on what I can and cannot say.

So, what's next? Will they ban Santa's from saying "Ho-Ho-Ho?" Well, actually they have. In Australia the Government has banned all Santa's from saying "Ho-Ho-Ho" and they now must say "Ha-Ha-Ha." But it's better, the reason they must not say ho-ho-ho is because it offends a certain group of women, I'm not joking. That's when the hahaha comes into play :) So as we get closer to the Christmas season, and we get wound up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping, don't forget about how our freedom of this season is being taken away slowly but surely. It's happened in many other places, don't let it come here.

Your Safety Sacrificed

Listen Up Tennessee! Your Safety is being sacrificed for "better education." It was the biggest tag line for voting YES in allowing the Lottery to come to Tennessee. By having the lottery, the state will be able to generate more money for our education system. Well, I don't know about your area, but in Anderson County it's not doing quite that. In the City of Clinton, voters will go tomorrow to vote on whether or not they think we should turn the city school system over to county control, because the city is unable to fund them properly. Evidently, not only is the lottery not helping but neither is the cigarette tax increase that will becoming to Clinton. According to State Estimates by 2009 the City of Clinton will have over half a million dollars to use for schools and schools only. Now, let's look at this for just one moment. We have a school board in our city who asks for more money before spending what they got, and yet it's their fault? It doesn't make sense for us to blame the school board for asking for more money, when its the City who has to do the final issuing. So...now whose at fault?

I bet your wondering where Safety is sacrificed huh? Well, look at what I just said just moments ago. All the money we get from increased cigarette tax MUST go to schools. BEP money cannot go anywhere else except to schools and the school system. What's wrong with that? Well Anderson County has a problem with criminality right now. We are unable to control crime effectively, mainly because we don't have the man power to do so. Why not? Our Sheriff's Department is asking for more money to raise our officer's pay, as well as help fund for more officer's. There are times when there may be just 1 or 2 patrol cars on duty at a time. This is not safety. We are unable to fund them with money from the lottery, or BEP money because state law requires that go to Education. At this time, for some reason, we are unable to afford to keep our citizens safe, because we have limits on what we can use the money for. A big argument is:

"If we didn't specify that the money goes towards schools, then our Education would decrease as a result."

Sounds convincing, sort of. Except for the big fact that there are schools in Anderson County that, even with the appropriate funds cant meet state expectations, nor can they do so when extra funds are given. So why not take the extra money we are now getting and use it for safety? Once again, we aren't allowed. So, in the meantime our officials are forced to sacrifice our safety for schools. My opinion is use the money we are forced to give to schools and give it to them, but the extra money we throw their way should be used for more officers. This is an issue everyone should check in their county and/or community. It has got many voters in my area on their feet and curious. It's time we set our priorities straight. What good is education, if the students aren't safe to get one?

Finding Victory in a Pre-Lost War

As the Race for President continues to wage. Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate Barack Obama of Illinois has found himself trailing one of the dominant forces in the Democratic Party. After a big win in Iowa, Barack Obama was all but certain to do the same in New Hampshire. However he was wrong. As the reults in New Hampshire began to pour in, a shocked Obama Campaign began loosing ground, and they had no idea of its coming. While the race is far from over, there are some key elements to look at. Hillary Clinton knows who's who. By that, I mean she knows exactly who to go to for support and who not to. She knows who the major players are and who aren't. Hillary's idea of a perfect America is already being dream up. She is not worried about a Barack Obama Candidacy, nor does she feel threatened by his presence in the race. Obama is simply a hindrance to her pre determined Presidency. While Obama may still be a popular guy who can unite both parties, he still has a long road to travel if he wants to beat the Clinton Machine. The Clinton's have been waiting for this day since Bill left office, they will not give up so easily. It is very much possible that Barack Obama could win the majority of popular votes, that he could win in a landslide and initially be the nominee. The problem is, can Barack win over a majority of the Delegates? If you look at the Delegate map right now. Clinton has a comanding lead in delegates supporting her than Barack Obama does. In fact, she beats him by over 100 Delegates. The point is, whether or not Barack Obama wins the popular vote or not is not the problem, it's being able to pull of the Delegate win that he needs in order to officially be the Democratic Nominee. And there lies the problem, it simply can not be done. While I have all faith that Barack Obama could very well win the popular vote and have a comanding showing. I do not believe he will be able to win at the Convention in order to pursue a full victory.

This is exactly what the Clinton's realize and exactly why they have no fear of the turnout of this election. Is it possible that Barack Obama is searching for Victory in a Pre-Lost War? Is it possible that his idea to bring America together will get as far as the platform he stands on? While he may very well be a thunderous force in 2012 or 2016, he is, as of now only a hindrance to what has already been maped out by Democratic Leaders. The chance to bring the Clinton's back into power is on the verge of reality. And there is only one man standing in their way of making it official. That man is Barack Obama. While Edwards is playing the role of "good guy," his presence in the race is helping usher in the Clinton Team. We could very well see a battle at the Convention if Obama were to win the popular vote, yet Clinton win the Delegate. If that were not the case, Barack Obama would be a force like no other. And Clinton would most likely drop out. The just of this whole Race is for Barack Obama to beat one of the most powerful and influential people in all the world. To do so is tiring, overwhelming and yes, life threatning. But through all of that, possibility is still there. In this war there are no rules. There are only one sided battles. Clinton's control over the liberal media as well as her knowledge of the game will go far for her in the race for the Whitehouse. This nomination is only a speed bump to her chance to reign. Preventable? Yes! Probable? Only time will tell. To Find Victory in a Pre-Lost War, one must realize the battle, and fighters in the battle. And from there do what one always does to survive. Fight.

Why If We Settle, We Will Loose

It's long been discussed about who the best Candidate is for the Presidential Position. Many Conservatives have been discussing whether or not they should settle for endorsing someone like Giuliani, Romney or even Thompson in order to beat Hillary in the General Election. I would like to tackle these arguments in the most mature way possible, even though those who have endorsed these guys have been very immature. Let's first take a look at Mayor Rudy Giuliani. The man is very intelligent. He is one of the brightest candidates on both sides, and would definitely protect us from terrorism here on the home front. But there is more than terrorism that frustrates me about Giuliani. And no its not his Abortion and Same-Sex Marriage Stance either. It's more along the lines of how he is so against the right for Americans to bear arms. It's also the fact that he is more like Hillary when it comes to separation of church and state, and how he would like to keep us shut up. When asked the question regarding the social conservatives of the party. They asked him what his thoughts were when recent polls said 20% of Republicans would bolt to support a third party or Independent Candidate. He said he wasn't worried. Well Mr. Mayor you should be worried, that's 20% of votes you will loose before you even get a chance to share your "conservative" views.

Now Let's move onto Mitt Romney, the Republican version of John Edwards, (minus the $400 haircuts.) Just like Edwards, Mitt is very polarized. He likes to look the greatest and sound the greatest, but isn't the greatest. Mitt Romney tries to focus on his current speeches instead of his previous records. Mitt Romney is by far in the same category as John Kerry, when it comes to flip-flopping and changing your positions more than I change hair styles. The difference between Mitt and Rudy is really this; Rudy stands up for what he has always believed and doesn't back down. Mitt on the other hand tries to cover up his record with, well conservative folk talk. Mitt Romney is weak on Immigration, probably more so than McCain. These areas and more will definitely be a stumbling block for his candidacy.

Now to good ole' Fred Thompson. Thompson is a different breed of candidate material. He was able to enter later, and make his opponents weaknesses his ultimate strengths. But his late entrance to the race was very costly. Thompson also was unable to justify his Abortion, Same-Sex Marriage and Immigration Issues. Thompson also lied in his entrance to the race stating he never had Abortion Lobbyists campaigning for him. That turned out to be false. Fred's average campaign lifestyle turned southern isn't really being bought. It's been thought for sometime that many of the Bush and Cheney family members and friends are rallying behind Thompson, but its not been confirmed except by a few people who have endorsed certain candidates.

So the question we now have to ask ourselves is this: If We Settle for someone like the candidates mentioned above, simply to beat Hillary or Barack or Al Gore or any other Democrat. What can we expect? You can expect a for sure loss. Maybe not a loss voting wise, but you will loose your strong core base to the Party and the respect of many around the world. To sacrifice our values because we simply can nominate a northerner, (or someone who can relate to them.) Will not help bring victory into Republican hands. If everyone who has "settled" would rally behind a true conservative Republican, the force would be unstoppable and we would win in 2008. I don't represent the 21st Century Republicans, I represent the Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan Republicans. I represent the Franklin Roosevelt, Zel Miller and Woodrow Wilson Democrats. I have traditional values, that happened to be conservative leaning. But the question relates to everyone. If we settle can we really win?

Why Thompson Won't Catch On

The man of "hope" who was asked by thousands of conservatives to run for President is now a "once-was." We all know Thompson was this incredible social and fiscal conservative guy who fought with Michael Moore and the Hard core liberals of Hollywood and D.C. He taught us about National Security and threats of Nuclear capability. He attacked the Immigration procedures and Abortion tactics. But now the only thing we get from Thompson are chuckles in debates. Thompson lost, not a lot, but some of his support after "flirting" with the idea of running for President. Then, after entering decided he was going to be less aggressive and more, well more something, not quite sure what THAT is yet.

Thompson started looking as though he may be on the verge of coming back to that hard core style Candidacy, in the Debate when he refused to answer the question about Global Warming. Everyone loved it, but then, once again the Thompson phase faded. This is exactly why Thompson couldn't catch on in Iowa, could not catch on in New Hampshire, won't be able to catch on in Nevada and will be difficult to catch on in South Carolina. Thompson may just very well loose to the top three Republicans right now. Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney or John McCain. While Giuliani is focusing his attention on Florida and then Super Tuesday. Thompson is skipping early states, to make a desperate attempt to grab South Carolina. If he fails, he will not be able to win the nomination. If he wins, he still hasn't secured the nomination.

Thompson has relied on his advisers to run his campaign, and in hindsight, they run it horribly. Thompson's excuse for these accusations months ago was that he was winning in most state polls, and that his campaign was running very smooth. Well, that's no longer the case. So what is the new excuse Thompson? Any new plans? Any new agendas? Thompson has let down the social and fiscal conservatives of the Republican Party. As we move onto Nevada, we may see a win there for Huckabee and a win for Romney in Michigan. But South Carolina is a huge toss-up. With Thompson fading faster than ever, he will have to win South Carolina big in order to have a chance on Super Tuesday.

Demoralizing Morality

"America is not a Christian nation"

It's not the first time we have heard a quote like this. People who scream equality, are the same ones who downsize Christianity. There was a resolution that was voted on by house members previously, that asked them to vote YES on "honoring the Christian holiday of Christmas." However nine congressmen (all democrats) voted 'No' on this resolution. Apparently, "it was another sad attempt by conservative Republicans to skew the line between church and state and impose their belief that America is a Christian nation." quoted by Florida Congressman Alcee Hastings, who also quoted the first quote I have written above; "America is not a Christian Nation."

Yet the resolutions to honor holidays of Islam and Hinduism passed without any NO votes. Yet, according to those who opposed this resolution, it was a sad and desperate attempt by Conservatives to force Christianity on everyone. My problem isn't that they don't make the United States a Christian nation. Because I am all for diversity. My problem is however, that they are working so hard NOT to make it a Christian Nation. Easily promoting other religions along with their beliefs, but punishing me for wanting to have mine. For instance, the foot baths they want to put in airports for Muslims. Are they also going to allow Prayer Rooms for Christians to go in? I think not. A school teacher out of California led her Muslim students into a Muslim prayer. Yet, Christians are forbidden to do such an act. And yet, it's Conservatives who try these desperate attempts to push forth Christianity. Riiiight.

Congressman Hastings said: "As for the 'assault on Christianity,' all someone has to do is visit a shopping mall, turn on the radio or TV, or look at the Christmas trees sitting on the front lawns of the White House and the United States Capitol to realize that no such assault is underway." (And the Liberal Choir sings: Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.) Not true, Congressman. We just elected a Muslim Congressman, and he all but got on his knees and begged not to be sworn in on the Bible. And we gave in to a tradition we have always done. Prayer, is no longer permitted in schools. In God We Trust is being debated whether or not to remain on our currency. Having the word God in our Nation's pledge of allegiance is under attack. And you say there's no attack on Christianity? What country are you living in Congressman? You can put up a Christmas tree all you want to Congressman and call it equality. But an attack is underway. And I will use your voting record against you, you choose to vote 'yes' on Islamic Holidays, 'yes' on Hindu Holidays. But 'No' on Christmas. Yes, Congressman there is an attack. As long as we keep electing people like Alcee Hastings to Congress, these attacks will continue and will only get worse. In case you are not aware of exactly who Alcee Hastings is, he, at one time, was a Federal Judge. He was impeached for accepting $150,000 in bribery for a lenient sentence and a return of seized assets, for two men by the names of Frank Romano and Thomas Romano. Hastings was also impeached for perjury in his testimony about the case. This is the man the people of Florida's District 23 elected to represent them.

The attack on one religion, and one religion only is quite evident. From foreign attacks dealing with terrorism. To domestic attacks dealing with isolation. The idea to demoralize morality in our children, our culture, and society all together, is becoming more and more popular with those whose plans have consisted of such things for many years. To turn back time is inevitable, but to change the course of history is not. The Demoralization Project, as I like to call it, punishes me for my beliefs, but encourages others to enforce and celebrate theirs. The idea didn't just come to existence, it has always been here. It reared up when we thought we had destroyed it. The idea will never be destroyed, but the presence of it in our culture can be. It's time we honor those who died for our freedom, our country, our heritage, our flag, our security and so much more, by stopping these attacks against us. To call this something less than an attack would be an understatement. Let your representatives know, we want this behavior stopped. The nine congressmen voting 'No' on this resolution were:

Gary Ackerman (D-NY)
Yvette Clarke (D-NY)
Diana DeGette (D-CO)
Alcee Hastings (D-FL)
Barbara Lee (D-CA)
Jim McDermott (D-WA)
Bobby Scott (D-VA)
Pete Stark (D-CA)
Lynn Woolsey (D-CA)
